La Fundación del Español Urgente (Fundéu BBVA), con el asesoramiento de la Real Academia Española, explica que no es adecuado llamar "piquete" a una persona que forma parte de un grupo que intenta imponer o mantener una consigna de huelga. Es el grupo el que se denomina piquete y la persona es un miembro de dicho piquete.

OBS

No confundir con el concepto designado en Argentina por "piquetero", que es un regionalismo para denominar a los activistas o manifestantes.
