CONT

[The] study demonstrates that specimen pooling can be easily provided in the laboratory to obtain faster and reliable test results. The primary and fundamental advantage of merging samples is the increase in availability and decrease in high-tech molecular diagnostics costs. The most crucial disadvantage is the loss of analytical sensitivity of the tests and a growing number of pooled samples.

Record 5 2003-03-06

English

Subject field(s)
  • Commercial Utilization (Oil and Natural Gas)
DEF

Process whereby owners of adjoining properties pool reserves from a single unit operated by one of the owners.

CONT

Unitization. When owners of oil and/or gas reserves pool their individual interests in return for an interest in the overall unit, which is then operated by a single company on behalf of the group, thus increasing efficiency and profitability.

CONT

Most states in which we operate also have statutes and regulations governing a number of environmental matters, including the unitization or pooling of oil and gas properties and establishment of maximum rates of production from oil and gas wells.

OBS

[In this process,] production is divided among the owners according to the unitization agreement.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Exploitation commerciale (Pétrole et gaz naturel)
CONT
