rule against unreasonably splitting a case [1 record]

English

Subject field(s)
  • Legal Actions
  • Penal Law
CONT

Martin Friedland argues that the rule against unreasonably splitting a case "is undoubtedly the most important rule for the protection of the accused." The primary reason for such a rule is that separate trials for crimes which could be conveniently tried at the same time are a powerful means by which to harass an accused and ensure eventual conviction for at least one crime.

Domaine(s)
  • Actions en justice
  • Droit pénal
CONT
