OBS

L'expression «position accroupie» est plus appropriée à décrire la position du curleur au moment de lancer bien que différente de l'habituelle position de ce nom où les deux jambes sont repliées sous le corps; «position assise» ne vaut que pour l'apparence que donne la position du curleur en appui sur sa jambe de glisse.
