Le premier parcmètre portatif de poche vient d'être inventé par Roland Moreno, le père de la carte à puce. L'appareil, baptisé Piaf, pour parcmètre individuel à fente, a la taille d'une calculatrice. On y enfonce une carte à mémoire prépayée du type carte publiphone et le Piaf comptabilise le temps et débite le crédit. Il suffit alors de mettre cette calculatrice en évidence derrière son pare-brise pour montrer qu'elle est activée.
