CONT

The best means of cutting pipe is with the use of a snap type cutter which has sharp hardened cutting wheels. In the past plumbers used a cold chisel and hammer, but due to technological change in the manufacture of the pipe, the iron has become more difficult to cut by this means. The snap type cutter is fast and accurate, but it is important that the cutters be maintained in good condition.

CONT

Snap type cutters ... are used not only to cut cast iron soil pipe, but also for cutting vitrified clay pipe, concrete pipe and asbestos cement pipe.

CONT
