Contaminamètre de surface : On l’utilise surtout pour vérifier s’il existe une contamination du personnel, de surfaces ou d’objets dans des champs de rayonnement gamma faibles. Beaucoup plus sensible qu’un gammamètre, le contaminamètre permet de détecter le rayonnement alpha (α), bêta (β) et gamma (γ). Cependant, il ne convient pas dans la zone chaude. Il s’agit d’un instrument de type «tout ou rien».
