Trandolapril is a drug that is used to lower blood pressure. Blood pressure is dependent on the degree of constriction (narrowing) of the arteries and veins. The narrower the arteries and veins, the higher the blood pressure.

Le trandolapril est actif à tous les stades de l'hypertension artérielle : légère, modérée ou sévère. On observe une réduction des pressions artérielles systolique et diastolique, en décubitus et en orthostatisme. L'activité antihypertensive après une prise unique se manifeste dès la première heure et se maintient au moins pendant 24 heures, sans modification du rythme circadien de la pression artérielle.
