The Integrated Enteric Pathogen Surveillance Section facilitates decisions made by policy makers, regulators, public health departments, industry and the scientific community relative to the health risks associated with zoonotic microorganisms. This section provides input to the National Surveillance Program for Foodborne, Waterborne, and Enteric Disease through reference laboratory activities for Salmonella (OIÉ Reference Laboratory for Salmonella serotyping of non-human isolates in North America) and E.coli (VTEC) serotyping and molecular typing (linked to PulseNet North). La Section de la surveillance intégrée des agents entéro-pathogènes facilite la prise de décisions des décideurs, des autorités de réglementation, des services de santé publique, de l'industrie et de la communauté scientifique en ce qui concerne les risques pour la santé associés aux microorganismes zoonotiques. Cette section fournit des renseignements au Programme national de surveillance des maladies d'origine alimentaire ou hydrique et des maladies entériques en servant de laboratoire de référence pour le sérotypage et le typage moléculaire (lié à PulseNet North) de la salmonelle (laboratoire de référence de l'OIE pour le sérotypage des isolats de la salmonelle non humaine en Amérique du Nord) et de E. coli (ECPV).
