Fondations par caissons flottants. Ce procédé consiste à décharger les couches de terrain sous-jacent d'un poids égal ou supérieur à celui de la construction future. [...] on construit dans le sol un caisson étanche en béton armé [...] dont le volume correspond à celui des terres enlevées. Lorsque la construction est édifiée, en charge, la réaction transmise sur le mauvais sol est égale à celle que les couches sous-jacentes supportaient auparavant.
