[..] - les macromolécules linéaires; font partie de ce groupe presque toutes les macromolécules naturelles et artificielles qui concernent la technique moderne: cellulose, caoutchouc, fibres naturelles et artificielles, polystyrènes, polyéthylènes, etc. Leurs propriétés physiques et colloïdes sont liées à la longueur de la molécule. On les classe en trois catégories selon leurs dimensions: eucolloïdes; mésocolloïdes; hémicolloïdes (molécules plus courtes que les précédentes et plus solubles; les unités les plus courtes de ce groupe se confondent avec les molécules normales et avec les cristalloïdes).
