Jet dyeing is a process that can be used for batch dyeing operations such as dyeing, bleaching, washing and rinsing. In this process, dyeing is accomplished in a closed tubular system, basically composed of an impeller pump and a shallow dye bath. The fabric to be dyed is loosely collapsed in a form of a rope, and tied into a loop. The impeller pump supplies a jet of dye solution, propelled by water and/or air, to force the fabric to move through the tube into the shallow bath. Turbulence created by the jet aids in dye penetration and prevents the fabric from touching the walls of the tube, thus minimizing mechanical impact on the fabric. 1, record 2, English, - jet%20dyeing

Record number: 3, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Hemp... plant of the family Cannabaceae and its fibre, one of the bast fibre group... Fibres are obtained by subjecting the stalks to a series of operations... The fibre... is usually yellowish, greenish, or a dark brown or gray and, because it is not easily bleached to sufficiently light shades, is rarely dyed. It is strong and durable and is used for cordage, e. g., twine, yarn, rope, cable, and string; and for artificial sponges and such coarse fabrics as sacking(burlap) and canvas. In Italy some hemp receives special processing, producing whitish colour and attractive lustre, and is used to make fabric similar to linen. 4, record 3, English, - hemp

2, record 3, French, - chanvre
