Exhibition of the Canadian Museum of Civilization. "For the first time, an exhibition is bringing together the best of the African collections in Canadian museums and universities. The theme of the exhibition, "East and South African Personal Art," will take us on a voyage from the sources of the Nile to the Cape, in regions where appearance and aesthetics reflect the social order. Beadwork, headdresses, clothing, headrests, tobacco boxes, etc., of the Oromo, Maasai, Zulu and many other peoples, are mostly unknown to the public. Their presence in the storage areas of Canadian museums will be told through a selection of stories about collecting." 1, record 1, English, - Beads%20of%20Life%3A%20African%20Adornments%20from%20the%20Canadian%20Collections
