Le moulage à la main consiste tout d'abord à appliquer sur la surface du moule un agent de démoulage, et ensuite une couche de gel servant au finissage superficiel de l'article; on étend ensuite une couche de renfort vitreux que l'on imprégne à la main en versant dessus de la résine catalysée. On laisse polymériser, puis on applique une couche successive jusqu'à ce que l'épaisseur désirée soit atteinte.
