Ariane 5 Launcher. Propulsion for the main cryogenic stage is provided by a single Vulcain engine fed by cryogenic fuels - liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen - which are stored in two tanks separated by a common bulkhead. Engine thrust is transmitted through a thrustframe to the upper composite by means of the aft skirt, the tank walls and the stage's forward skirt. This frame, containing most equipment required for stage operation, constitutes the propulsion bay. The forward skirt also takes up the thrust of the two large solid boosters. 4, record 1, English, - propulsion%20bay

Propulsion Module. The ATV [Automatic Transfer Vehicle] Space Craft itself includes the propulsion bay accommodating the Propulsion and Reboost Subsystem. This bi-propellant system comprises: four main engines of 490 N each with a specific impulse of more than 310 s each twenty attitude control thrusters of 220 N each and a minimum impulse bit MIP) of less than 5 Ns. The system uses mixed oxides of nitrogen as oxidiser. Fuel and oxidiser are stored in eight identical 1 m-diameter titanium tanks. The same tanks are used for ATV propulsion and International Space Station reboost. 2, record 2, English, - propulsion%20module

4, record 2, French, - module%20de%20propulsion
