Wet air oxidation is the process of breaking down oxidizable inorganic and organic waste in a high-temperature, high-pressure, aqueous environment. The process is categorized as a low-temperature thermal treatment. 2, record 1, English, - wet%20air%20oxidation
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 CONT
In the wet air oxidation or wet combustion of sludges, air pressures are raised to 1200 to 1800 psig [pounds per square inch gage-82 to 124 bars] and the accompanying temperature becomes 540°F or more. Under these conditions there is no vaporization of the sludge liquid. ... External heat is applied to start oxidation of the organic matter in the sludge. Thereafter, oxidation increases until the rate reaches an equilibrium value. 3, record 1, English, - wet%20air%20oxidation

1, record 1, French, - combustion%20humide

A variation of the forward in situ combustion process where water in moderate amounts is injected simultaneously with the air. 2, record 2, English, - wet%20combustion
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Wet combustion: this method ... is a modification of the forward combustion process with the variation that water is injected with the air. The injection of water significantly increases the heat-transport capacity of the fluids passing through the burned-out region ... The injection of water also quenches the trailing edge of the combustion zone before all the fuel is consumed, thereby enabling a more rapid movement of the combustion zone through the reservoir. 3, record 2, English, - wet%20combustion

Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
