La production d'œstrogène est assurée principalement par deux hormones, l'hormone lutéinisante (LH) et l'hormone folliculostimulante (FSH) produites par l'hypophyse ou glande pituitaire. Ces hormones invitent les ovaires à augmenter leur production d'œstrogène.
