OBS

law clerk; briefing attorney: Some courts ... call their clerks "briefing attorneys," but, to one accustomed to the unpretentiousness of "law clerk" this term seems inflated; if a judge hires "law clerks," none of them should call himself a "briefing attorney."The understated title "law clerk" is to be worn as a badge of honor.

OBS

judicial assistant: term used in the Supreme and Federal Courts of Canada.
