Violent crime includes offences in which the offender uses or threatens force against a person. It includes homicide, attempted murder, sexual assault, assault, robbery and kidnapping. Québec recorded the lowest rate of violent crime among the Canadian provinces. In contrast, Manitoba and Saskatchewan stood out with rates significantly higher than the other Canadian provinces.
