La construction du verbe marier est une occasion fréquente de faute. Employé avec un complément direct, le verbe marier ne peut se dire que des parents par rapport aux enfants. Exemple : le père marie sa fille, c'est-à-dire qu'il la donne en mariage. Il est donc fautif d'employer transitivement le verbe marier au sens d'épouser.
