An investment fund is a company or trust engaged in managing investments for other people. Capital is raised by selling shares or units to many investors and the money raised is then invested in a diverse range of securities issued by governments and many companies, usually in different industries. Un fonds de placement est une société ou une fiducie dont la fonction consiste à gérer les placements d'autres personnes. Le capital est constitué au moyen de la vente d'actions ou de parts à un grand nombre d'investisseurs, et les sommes obtenues sont placées par la suite dans des titres variés émis par les gouvernements et diverses sociétés appartenant à des secteurs industriels différents.
