This expression links the "Canadian National Vimy Memorial", the monument erected to the memory of the Canadian soldiers who died on the Field of Honour in France during the War of 1914-1918, and the "Battlefield Park" surrounding the Vimy Ridge and the monument erected on it. The monument, built from 1925 to 1936 on a tract of land on Vimy Ridge ceded to Canada by France by an Agreement signed in 1922, was designated as of national historic and architectural significance on April 10, 1997, while the area surrounding the Memorial, "a gift of the French nation to the people of Canada", was organized as a "battefield park" on which were reproduced Canadian woods and forests. 3, record 1, English, - The%20Canadian%20National%20Vimy%20Memorial%20and%20Park

3, record 1, French, - Le%20Monument%20et%20le%20Parc%20comm%C3%A9moratif%20du%20Canada%20%C3%A0%20Vimy
