OBS

In all ocean environments, from central highly depleted zones to much richer coastal areas, the basic of the pelagic ecosystem is made up of an array of very small (0.2 to 2-3 um) organisms called picoplankton, which include viruses, bacteria and eukaryotes. These organisms play a key role in the production and recycling of living matter.

CONT
