[...] tumeur pseudo-inflammatoire, plus fréquente chez l'homme que chez la femme [...] Son origine peut être multiple : inflammatoire, infectieuse, traumatique vocale, allergique [...] Son lieu d'implantation est variable, le plus souvent situé à la partie moyenne de la corde vocale; il n'est pas exceptionnel à la commissure antérieure où il peut poser d'ailleurs des problèmes délicats de diagnostic.

Polypes de la corde vocale - Ce sont des lésions fréquemment unilatérales, siégeant également le plus souvent au niveau du point nodulaire. Elles sont sessiles ou pédiculées. D'aspect translucide, ces polypes sont dits œdémateux; d'aspect rougeâtre, ils sont dits angiomateux.
