Although focussed on production of continuous graphite fiber reinforced aluminum composite precursor tapes ("prepregs"), the versatility inherent in the process of manufacturing MMC precursors by vapor deposition methods was exploited to also produce graphite/magnesium, graphite/copper, and silicon carbide/titanium tapes.
