The Human Resources Management Modernization Branch(HRMM) was established in April 2004, as an organization within the Public Service Human Resources Management Agency of Canada(PSHRMAC), the new central agency whose core business, purpose and focus is to improve the management of people, and of leadership, in the public service of Canada. In this context the HRMM branch plays a critical role within the Agency and across government for managing the transition to a reformed HR system, and its associated performance measurement regime. The HRMM branch is accountable for providing leadership and oversight over a broad range of functional areas, with primary responsibility for the implementation of the Public Service Modernization Act(PSMA), leading the ongoing Classification reform process, aligning Employment policies and developing the HR dimension of the CASS initiative. In summary, the HRMM branch and its Executive team provide the visible face of HR reform to key stakeholders and the HR community across government. 1, record 1, English, - Human%20Resources%20Management%20Modernization%20Branch

1, record 1, French, - Direction%20de%20la%20modernisation%20de%20la%20gestion%20des%20ressources%20humaines

The use of training statistics obtained from one geographic area to classify data from similar areas some distance away. 2, record 6, English, - signature%20extension
Record number: 6, Textual support number: 1 CONT
The alternative to depending on training sites for classification is to apply the concept of signature extension. This term refers to the assumption that a single, more or less constant, spectral signature may be defined as characteristic of any class, and that this signature has broad(universal) applicability to any scene in a region, or even worldwide. As a specific example, the signature for winter wheat at its maturation should be essentially the same for fields in the U. S. Great Plains, Argentina, the Ukraine, and Australia-provided such variables as differing air masses, Sun position, soil types, soil moisture, etc. are compensated for. If that proves true, then an unknown feature or class in a given scene anywhere should be classifiable by comparing its spectral properties(for a Landsat pixel, its multiband digital number [DN] values) to a "data bank" containing standard values for each of many classes. The closest fit of the unknown's DN [digital number] values to those of some one class in the bank is assumed to identify it. 3, record 6, English, - signature%20extension
