An integrating measuring instrument which progressively indicates values of the quantity measured accumulated over a certain length of time.

OBS

In the indicating device of an integrating meter the first moving element(disc, numbered roller, etc...) which has the smallest scale value normally moves continuously during the course of measurement. However, this continuity of movement does not always occur in the indicating devices of some other integrating measuring instruments, e. g. cyclic operating heat meter, hydrometric vane in which the indicating device is actuated by discontinuous impulses.

OBS

Dans le dispositif indicateur d'un compteur continu, le premier élément mobile (disque, rouleau chiffré, etc) qui a la plus petite valeur d'échelon se déplace ordinairement de façon continue au cours du mesurage. Cependant, cette continuité de mouvement n'existe pas toujours pour les dispositifs indicateurs de certains autres appareils mesureurs intégrateurs. Exemples : compteur de chaleur à fonctionnement cyclique, moulinet hydrométrique dont le dispositif indicateur est entraîné par des impulsions discontinues.
