Pinched sluice : il est constitué d'un élément de 1 m de long et dont la largeur de la sortie est calculée de façon à ce que l'épaisseur du lit soit suffisante pour une bonne efficacité de coupure des déflecteurs (splitters). Cette largeur est d'environ 20 mm à l'alimentation et 25 mm à la sortie. L'angle du cône varie de 7 à 20° et la pente de 10 à 20°. La pulpe traitée contient de 50 à 65 % de solides.
