The Secrétariat à la réforme des institutions démocratiques et à l'accès à l'information is under the responsibility of the Minister responsible for Canadian Intergovernmental Affairs, Francophones within Canada, the Agreement on Internal Trade, the Reform of Democratic Institutions and Access to Information. The Secretariat assists the Minister in carrying out his mandate, which entails maintaining the quality of democratic institutions and preserving the access that citizens have to information and the protection of their personal information. Le Secrétariat à la réforme des institutions démocratiques et à l'accès à l'information relève du ministre responsable des Affaires intergouvernementales canadiennes, de la Francophonie canadienne, de l'Accord sur le commerce intérieur, de la Réforme des institutions démocratiques et de l'Accès à l'information. Il seconde le ministre dans la réalisation de son mandat, qui est de maintenir la qualité des institutions démocratiques et de préserver le droit des citoyens à l'information et à la protection des renseignements personnels.
