In 1987, the Office of Director General of Operations and Plans(DGOP) released a draft Army Office Staff Instruction(AOSI) for the disruptive pattern painting(DPP) of army equipment. The policy covered both existing and new equipment including the disruptive pattern for canvas vehicle canopies. In practice it was found that the vehicle disruptive pattern could be extended from the body of the vehicle to include the canvas canopy using coatings which matched the camouflage colours of the vehicle. Special reproofing paints in the three camouflage colours, olive, black and tan were developed for use on existing vehicle covers. 2, record 11, English, - disruptive%20pattern%20painting

Rusty tussock moth.... Larvae attack all conifer seedling species.... These gregarious caterpillars completely denude a seedling before moving on to the next, and can occur in patches of 5-100 styroblocks.... The adult male is rusty-brown with a white dot and light brown band on each forewing. The female is flightless, sedentary, with light tan hairs covering the body. The population overwinters as white egg masses which can be cemented to the sides and bottoms of styroblocks. They will adhere to the blocks after seedlings have been lifted and blocks washed and stored. Because the eggs are white, they often go unnoticed. Larvae emerge from these egg masses(often on styroblocks) around May, and actively feed on newly emerged seedlings. They are hairy, up to 28 mm long, have two black hair "pencils" projecting forward and one to the rear, four golden brushes of hair on the back, accompanied by eight warty protuberances with yellow and black hairs on each segment. 4, record 22, English, - rusty%20tussock%20moth

The prefixes "ortho-," "meta-" and "para-," along with their corresponding abbreviations ("o-," "m-" and "p-"), appear in italics and are ignored in alphabetizing. According to the actual chemical nomenclature rules in organic chemistry (in 2003), the numbers designating the positions of the disubstitution groups (1,2- for "ortho-," 1,3- for "meta-" and 1,4- for "para-") are to be preferred to the symbols "o-," "m-" and "p-." Furthermore, the prefixes "ortho-," "meta-" and "para-" should not be used anymore, and their corresponding abbreviations ("o-," "m-," and "p-") will soon be judged to be avoided, if not totally condemned. 4, record 39, English, - 2%2Dmethoxybenzaldehyde

Bacterial leaf streak(Xanthomonas campestris subsp holcicola) is widely distributed on sorghums-including sudangrass and Johnsongrass. Other plants that may become infected include corn, pearl millet, and foxtail millet. Narrow, water-soaked and translucent(1/8 by 1 to 6 inch long streaks), with red or brown borders and irregular blotches of color interrupting the streaks, form on the leaves. Irregular, oval blotches develop later as lesions enlarge and merge covering much of the leaf blade. The blotches have tan centers and red or brown margins. When infection is severe, leaves may wither and drop early. 1, record 42, English, - bacterial%20leaf%20streak

The fungus causing downy mildew of cabbage also attacks other crucifers, such as cauliflower, collards, Chinese cabbage, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, kale, and kohlrabi... The first symptoms of downy mildew are the formation of black specks and yellow-brown spots on the upper leaf surface, accompanied by the development of a fluffy mold growth on the lower surface. Young leaves may fall off when infected, and on older leaves, the spots may coalesce, producing large, sunken, tan spots. The disease can attack young seedlings or plants that have already headed. On older cabbage plants, the disease produces dark, sunken spots, which may appear purplish, on the head or wrapper leaves. 3, record 54, English, - downy%20mildew%20of%20cabbage

DOTHISTROMA NEEDLE BLIGHT caused by Dothistroma pini can infect all two or three needle pines, but only ponderosa and Austrian pines are highly susceptible. Early symptoms appear in late summer or early fall as deep green bands with a water-soaked appearance and as yellow or tan spots. The spots and bands turn brown to reddish-brown. The ends of infected needles gradually die and turn brown. Tiny black fruiting bodies develop near the infection band in late fall or the following spring. Infected needles drop prematurely. In the western United States, where the infected spots or bands are more red than in the Great Plains, this disease is called red band disease. 2, record 72, English, - red%20band%20disease

Whenever the celery crop has been weakened in any manner, such as by the lack of magnesium, boron or other minor element; too much soluble salt; excessively wet soil; not enough fertilizer; too acid soil; and other influences, this weak pathogen causes spotting on celery stems. The brown or tan spot is irregular in shape, shallow in depth, and is present either on the outside or inside of the stem, on the petioles, and slightly on the leaflets.... When the spots enlarge until they unite, the combined lesion may extend almost the entire length of the stalk.(Charles Chupp, Vegetable Diseases and Their Control, 1960, p. 212). 2, record 88, English, - brown%20spot

1, record 94, French, - cuve%20de%20tannage
