Overall coefficient of heat transmission.

CONT

U-VALUE. The overall heat transfer coefficient or thermal conductance of a building wall, floor, ceiling, roof, or other element; of piping or tubing carrying heating or cooling fluids; or of heat transfer equipment. The U-value is normally applied to a cross-section of more than one material and considers the film conductance and air. The total heat transfer can be estimated as the product of U, surface area, temperature difference, and time.

OBS

Sous une couverture en zinc, la chanlatte sert de pièce de fourrure d'angle. Les chanlattes ont en principe 50 ou 80 mm de largeur, 20 ou 26 mm de grande hauteur et 10 ou 15 mm de petite hauteur. Une variante plus large et moins épaisse de la chanlatte est la frise chanlattée ou volige chanlattée qui, posée à recouvrement, sert à faire des voligeages à ressauts sur lesquels on accroche directement les tuiles.
