Transcortical motor aphasia. This language disorder is similar in many ways to Broca's aphasia, which is primarily characterized by trouble producing spontaneous speech. In essence, people with transcortical motor aphasia cannot say what they want to say because they can’t form the words. However, if someone who has transcortical motor aphasia is asked to repeat something, they can do it without difficulty. 1, record 2, English, - transcortical%20motor%20aphasia

Du côté des aphasies non fluentes, l'aphasie transcorticale motrice est caractérisée par un manque d'initiative verbale, alors que la répétition et la compréhension sont préservées. Une lésion dans les aires préfrontales, de l'aire motrice supplémentaire ou des noyaux gris centraux dans l'hémisphère gauche peuvent causer cette aphasie. 1, record 2, French, - aphasie%20motrice%20transcorticale

Mixed transcortical aphasia results in a speech pattern characterized by the inability to speak or comprehend others when they speak. However, with mixed transcortical aphasia, it is usually possible to repeat words or sentences and sing familiar songs. In this rare type of aphasia, the main areas of language(Broca's and Wernicke's) are not typically damaged, but the surrounding areas, also known as the language association areas, are injured. 1, record 3, English, - mixed%20transcortical%20aphasia

[...] l'aphasie transcorticale mixte se caractérise par un langage essentiellement écholalique, mais une réduction de l'expression orale marquée et des troubles de compréhension importants sont aussi observés. Cette aphasie serait associée à une lésion généralement étendue, touchant des aires antérieures et postérieures, épargnant [les aires] de Broca et de Wernicke ainsi que leurs connexions. 1, record 3, French, - aphasie%20transcorticale%20mixte
