The objectives of the AJU are to unite all African judokas and in general and enlarge the bonds of friendship and national co-operation among all the sportsmen of the world. AJU co-ordinates the practice of judo in all the countries of Africa, sets the rules dealing with techniques, organization, diffusion, and promotion of judo. It organizes and supervises the international events, represents the African judo.
