In Christianity, the Annunciation is the revelation to Mary, the mother of Jesus by the archangel Gabriel that she would conceive a child to be born the Son of God. L'Annonciation est une fête catholique et orthodoxe instituée en mémoire de l'annonce faite à la Vierge Marie de sa maternité divine. Célébré le 25 mars (9 mois avant Noël) par la tradition chrétienne, l'anniversaire de l'Annonciation correspond aux anniversaires de la mort d'Adam et de la crucifixion du Christ. L'annonciation est un des mystère centraux du culte chrétien.
