Les médicaments anti-angiogéniques sont une nouvelle classe thérapeutique d’agents anti-tumoraux, d’efficacité remarquable dans une large variété de cancers métastatiques. Ils ont une efficacité dans les cancers les plus fréquents : cancers du sein, du côlon-rectum, du poumon. Ils ont également une efficacité majeure dans des maladies réfractaires à la chimiothérapie cytotoxique ou peu chimiosensibles : cancers du rein, tumeurs endocrines bien différenciées digestives, paragangliomes, cancers différenciés de la thyroïde.
