APEC stands for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation. APEC was established in response to the growing interdependence among Asia-Pacific economies and to the need to advance Asia-Pacific economic dynamism and sense of community. The upcoming APEC Summit will be held in Ha Noi, Vietnam in the fall of this year. As APEC 2006 host, Vietnam has selected the following theme to guide discussions throughout the year: "Towards a Dynamic Community for Sustainable Development and Prosperity."

L'APEC a été établie pour refléter l'interdépendance croissante des économies de l'Asie-Pacifique et pour donner plus d'ampleur au dynamisme économique et au sentiment d'appartenance à une communauté des pays de cette région. Cette année, le Sommet de l'APEC aura lieu à Ha Noi en Vietnam. A titre d'hôte de l'APEC, le Vietnam a choisi le thème suivant pour guider les discussions de toute l'année : « Vers une communauté dynamique pour le développement durable et la prospérité ».
