... the apprentice cement finisher must have completed two apprenticeship periods of 2,000 hours each (4,000 hours total) in order to be eligible for the provincial qualification examination that leads to obtaining the competency certificate-journeyman for the trade.

[Cement finisher apprentices smooth] and finish surfaces of poured concrete, such as floors, walks, sidewalks, roads, or curbs using a variety of hand and power tools. [They also align] forms for sidewalks, curbs, or gutters; patch voids; and use saws to cut expansion joints.
