Soit par l'action sur ladite veine d'un fluide auxiliaire, qui peut être un gaz ou une vapeur animée d'une très grande vitesse, afin de renfermer une énergie cinétique suffisante pour provoquer l'érosion ou l'éclatement du filet liquide. Les fluides de pulvérisation qui sont généralement utilisés sont, par ordre d'importance : - l'air sous pression plus ou moins élevée; - la vapeur d'eau; - certains gaz combustibles (butane, propane, gaz naturel, etc.).
