Selon M. Jean-Yves Bédard, responsable du Service de foresterie urbaine de la ville de Québec, la norme québécoise de forage prend surtout en compte la distance de l'arbre par rapport à l'excavatrice ainsi que la nature de l'espèce et sa facilité d'adaptation au territoire.
