Le programme SECURITAS administré par le Bureau de la sécurité des transports du Canada permet aux membres du milieu de l'aviation de présenter des renseignements confidentiels sur des incidents ou des actes ou des conditions potentiellement dangereux. On a reproché à ce programme de ne pas fournir de rétroaction aux personnes qui présentent de l'information et de ne pas fournir d'information à la Sécurité du système de Transports Canada. La Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) a établi le système de rapports Aviation Safety Reporting System (ASRS) qui est administré par la National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Le programme permet aux gens de rendre compte des incidents, des événements et des actes potentiellement dangereux en toute confidentialité et impunité, sauf dans les cas d'accidents impliquant des aéronefs ou d'activités criminelles.
