Les vaginoses bactériennes (autrefois appelées vaginites non spécifiques) constituent les infections vaginales les plus fréquentes chez les femmes sexuellement actives [...] Le double caractère essentiel des vaginoses bactériennes est la diminution sensible, voire la disparition, de la flore lactique vaginale et son remplacement par une flore comprenant le plus souvent Gardnerella vaginalis, certains germes anaérobies (Bacteroides, Mobiluncus) et Mycoplasma hominis.
