The glycoside of this herb [huang qin], baicalin, is a potent anti-inflammatory and antitumor agent. It inhibits tumor cell growth and suppresses carcinoma cell proliferation by inducing apoptosis and arresting it at the G0/G1 phase.

OBS

Baicalin inhhibits HIV-1 infection and replication by inhibiting HIV-1 RT.

[...] la baicaline (un flavonoïde utilisé par la médecine traditionnelle chinoise pour traiter l'allergie et l'inflammation) a été donnée par voie orale à des cochons d'Inde. Après le traitement par le flavonoïde, l'asthme a été chimiquement induit. Chez les animaux pré-traités avec le flavonoïde, les symptômes étaient beaucoup plus atténués que chez ceux qui ne l'avaient pas été.
