The Beef Herd Improvement program (BHIP) is a beef cattle herd performance evaluation program available to all Ontario beef producers. BHIP can be used as an improvement tool which will assist producers in: improving genetic quality of economically important traits; identifying genetically superior cows and herd sires; selecting replacement herfers; cutting poorer producing cows; improving management of cow-calf herds, and; providing performance information for potential buyers.
