A subfamily of bovids which includes buffaloes, oxen, yaks and bisons.

Cattle belong to the biological subfamily Bovinae (or bovines). This includes a diverse group of about 24 species of medium-sized to large ungulates, including bison, the water buffalo, the yak, and the four-horned and spiral-horned antelopes.
