Founded in 1980, the Canadian Ethnocultural Council (CEC) is a non-profit, non-partisan coalition of national ethnocultural umbrella organizations which, in turn, represent a cross-section of ethnocultural groups across Canada. The CEC's objectives are to ensure the preservation, enhancement and sharing of the cultural heritage of Canadians, the removal of barriers that prevent some Canadians from participating fully and equally in society, the elimination of racism and the preservation of a united Canada.

Initialement fondé en 1980, le Conseil ethnoculturel du Canada (CEC) est une coalition sans but lucratif et non partisane de plus de 30 différentes organisations ethnoculturelles nationales cadres représentant de nombreux groupes ethnoculturels au Canada. Les objectifs du CEC consistent à assurer la préservation, l'amélioration et la mise en commun du patrimoine canadien, l'élimination des obstacles qui empêchent certains Canadiens de participer pleinement et en toute égalité à la société, l'élimination du racisme, la préservation d'un Canada uni et la promotion de la réalité multiculturelle du Canada, telle que définie dans la Charte canadienne des droits et libertés et dans la Loi sur le multiculturalisme canadien.
