The Canadian Integrated Program for Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance (CIPARS) monitors trends in antimicrobial use and antimicrobial resistance in selected bacterial organisms from human, animal and food sources across Canada. The program is based on several representative and methodologically unified surveillance components which can be linked to examine the relationship between antimicrobials used in food-animals and humans and the associated health impacts.

Le PICRA (Programme intégré canadien de surveillance de la résistance aux antimicrobiens) surveille les tendances à l'échelle nationale quant à l'emploi des antimicrobiens et à l'émergence de la résistance aux antimicrobiens chez certaines bactéries isolées chez l'humain, les animaux ou dans les aliments. Ce programme renferme plusieurs volets de surveillance représentative basés sur des méthodes standardisées qui peuvent être reliées afin d'examiner les liens qui existent entre l'emploi des antimicrobiens chez les animaux destinés à l'alimentation et chez les humains, d'une part, et leur impact sur la santé, d'autre part.
