CanCOVID was established in March 2020 with the support of ... the federal government's Chief Science Advisor ... in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Under the guidance of an intersectoral committee, the organization grew to link over 2400 members of Canada's research community using digital networking tools. CanCOVID members have been able to collaborate across critical research and development areas, from clinical trials and testing, to diagnostics and treatment. With the support of the Government of Canada, CanCOVID has formed five key thematic research networks, based on priorities developed in collaboration with the government. These thematic research networks will address the government's key questions as they develop policy.
