The English name of a tower that has a French equivalent form; the specific in "Carleton Martello Tower National Historic Site (N.B.)", a national historic site managed by Parks Canada. In "Carleton Martello Tower", the generic is "Martello Tower/martello tower". This tower is located in the western part of the city of Saint John (N.B.) which was informally known as "Carleton" or "Carleton Heights" at times in the XIX Century.
