Metamorfismo [que] se produce en las proximidades de fallas y cabalgamientos, en donde la trituración mecánica y las fuerzas de cizalla provocan cambios de textura en las rocas.

OBS

En estos procesos no se producen grandes calentamientos, no se dan cambios químicos ni mineralógicos, pero la presencia de fluidos puede provocar fenómenos de alteración posteriores. Algunas de las rocas que aparecen, como consecuencia de estos procesos, son las brechas de fricción, las milonitas y las pseudotaquilitas, cada una de ellas con el tamaño de grano más fino.
