The College of Dental Technologists of Alberta (CDTA) regulates and governs the activities of Dental Technologists and Dental Technicians in the Province of Alberta. In accordance with the Health Professions Act, the CDTA's mandate is to protect and serve the public interest while: promoting professionalism; setting standards for member registration, education and training; setting standards of practice and guidelines for member conduct and practice; [and] addressing complaints or concerns about member conduct.

The Canadian Dance Teachers' Association (CDTA) was founded in 1949 and has branches in the Atlantic Provinces, Quebec, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. The aims and objectives are to promote friendship and the exchange of ideas among teachers; to promote and carry on activities calculated to raise the standard of dancing and of dance teachers; to encourage and maintain a high standard of business ethics among dance teachers and to act to prevent false and misleading advertising and publicity.
